The Santa Clarita Valley is an area rich in the history, tradition and culture of Spanish-speaking people. From the early settlers – like Francisco Lopez who, in 1842, made the first documented discovery of gold in California, in Placerita Canyon - to the varied Spanish- speaking peoples who live here today, Latino heritage is woven deeply into the fabric of this land and is as vibrant and diverse as the people themselves.

In the pages of this "virtual book" we share the stories of modern-day, notable Latino residents of the Santa Clarita Valley whose contributions to the arts, education, business, philanthropy and Latino heritage is an essential part of the present we live in--and of the future we will build.

The first edition hard copy of "Quien" will be donated to the Libraries of Santa Clarita
